This post is about some of my favorite sapphic books that highlight authors & characters of color! This is the first part of a series I’m working on to raise awareness of sapphic books NOT focused on white, cis, “feminine,” able-bodied, women.

I want to emphasize that each and every one of these books, despite this post being centered around BIPOC representation in the sapphic genre, feature intersectional representation – this is truly the only way to have diverse representation and I’m tired of this not being the case!
I’ve also included sapphic stories for all ages, and across genres – because sapphic love shouldn’t be reserved for adults and restricted to romance novels. This is by //no// means an exhaustive list – there are so many other amazing intersectional sapphic stories out there—not to mention so many other creators who share these identities promoting and sharing them. I hope that this post motivates you to be more aware and intentional about what kind of sapphic rep you’re consuming and promoting and recommending, and as always, please share your favorite recommendations with me as well – I’d love to hear them 💗
